Internship position

The company is a free consultancy service for students wanting to study in New Zealand. Since 1998 they have been helping students from around the world to enrol in all types of courses including English, high school and university.

The organisation represents all New Zealand universities as well as a wide range of institutes, language schools and high schools. They have special expertise in helping students from Latin America and the Middle East and are wishing to expand in French and Spanish speaking countries. They also assist with investment enquiries and work closely with the Saudi Consulate processing visas for New Zealanders to travel to South America. The sister company is currently applying for IATA registration to be an accredited travel agent and the office will soon be organising ticketing for students as well as tourism to Saudi Arabia.

Intern Duties

General office help including:

• Reception – greeting students and giving them basic information on what we do or directing them to the appropriate person, filling out student profiles with students and collecting their documents, responding to telephone enquiries.
• Support – supporting our student councillors and data entry person, includes assistance with filling out course applications, some data entry, translation as required.

Depending on the intern’s background, there is the scope for the intern to develop a project part-time alongside general work, so as to bridge their expectations and academic background with the type of applied learning experience they are looking for. This might include developing a market report or marketing strategy/activities relating to their home country. We hope the intern has a good level of English and it will be a bonus if they also speak French or Spanish.
